One day as a mommy – Ein Tag als Mutter

Today was a unexpected change on my day. Li became sick during the night and so she had to stay in bed all day. What did that mean for me? No break – normally I have one to two breaks during my day to breakfast and shower or make and eat my lunch and be one my own to recover my batteries for better tolerance to the noise, challenges (when they don’t want to do what you say..well because they are own human beings^^) and controlling my own temper.
So well today actually went better than I thought it would because Cyan had a playdate directly after school so I was together with the three small ones the whole day. Until around 3:30 p.m. everything was totally fine. We played, watched Disney’s “beauty and the beast” (my favorite) and finally we or at least I wanted to go do the groceries because we needed some stuff.
But as usual Ty wasn’t really enthusiastic about this idea. But I really tried to convince him that it will be awesome and super fun – Aaand that we would go to the playground afterwards. With this idea he grabbed his shoes !and mine! and we went off to the supermarket in our neighborhood.
When we finally made it through the too full Albert Heijn with Neo being really uneasy because he doesn’t like it a lot to be in the Buggy, and Nyra always running into the opposite direction Ty decided not to walk with me for whatever reason. So I walked further and acted like going without him but still keeping an eye on him. When we didn’t followed as usual I had no other choice than going back and grabbing him to take him with me. the next meters he resisted to really walk with me on his own. As I was already in a bad shape of not having a real time on my own I started screaming and well then also the groceries fell down, a few eggs broke and I really was on a low point. As you can think we weren’t going to the playground but strait home. As Nyra is pretty slow in Walking that also freaked me out and I came home totally done xD
So it was a pretty crazy day but a huge hug of Li gave me enough strength to keep on going until I can go and relax in my bed. And when I went upstairs Ty came into my room and gave me some handmade Dutch chocolate pralines, which are by the way awesomely delicious. And by giving me it he whispered “I’m really sorry Leonie for being naughty”
I almost cried and forgive him already before are we both said sorry to each other because none of our behavior was good and we promised to try harder and do better in the future.
As conclusion to my day my host mom asked me “And what do you think – do you still want to have kids??” ;)  And well to be honest, yes I totally do because now writing this text I don’t feel bad anymore because they also cuddle so much with me and give mich lots of love every day (e.g. ty always saying “thanks for cooking” or “oh wow the meal you made tastes delicious”). But of course I guess I will start with one kid and that growing by the amount of kids :P

So well that was my day how was yours?

Lots of hugs Xxx, Leo

By posting this on facebook she spoke out my thoughts on this day

Wohoo… Cyans lost his first milk tooth!!!

Hey there :)

yesterday Cyan and Mike(our neighbors boy) came to me and well Cyan was bleeding out of his mouth and held a teeth up. Then they told me “we were fighting and well then it went a little wrong”.
First I was a little shocked but also had to laugh because they were pretty afraid of what Li would say to this story. Well and when she came home she congratulated Cyan for his first lost milk tooth.
First she said he should lay the tooth under his pillow but well then the tooth fairy will come and bring him something. But then Mike told him that the tooth fairy were actually the parents. As Cyan also knows that Sinterlkaas is not real this was no drama.

Have a nice and sunny day – at least in your heart!!

Home, Christmas and Birthdays

A few days ago Cyan turned 6 and as we are in the Netherlands there’s a lot on you to do list.
Of course the normal craziness with a cake, a kids party, a family&friends party and of course not to forget: presents. But here there is also the unspoken rule of bringing little gifts “traktacies”  which you give all your kids from your class and something little for all teachers. This year we made some little paper cups with popcorn, winegums, chocolate raisins and some salty cookies. Actually the idea is very nice – of giving a little treat but when you have to prepare 27 of them and you’d be also…that’s a lot of work then!! But happy us we were two people and also Ty and Nyra where giving their best to help us. It was quite some work but in the end it was worth it.
As his birthday was on a Friday his 6 guests were picked up directly after school and for me it was quite a sound intensity shock. Even if we have four kids here 6 boys (Cyan and Ty included) and one girl (the only girl Cyan invited) it was never that loud. But well after some pancakes, cake and way to much sugar for this kids full of energy Li and Chris went to an indoor playground with them which was pretty relaxing for me but even more stressful for them. But in the end I guess it was a nice birthday for Cyan.
Furthermore I had a very good time at home with my family and friends. I enjoyed the time there but it was also a good feeling to come back to my 2nd home.
Oh I also went on a little ski trip with Daniel and some friends and luckily we also had two days where we really could ski but also the other days were nice and filled with playing games and having fun.
What really made my heart smile was the kids hugging me and being really happy about me being back.

So far to this story… in my following post I will tell you about my weekend with Sandra, going to a fish spa and our trip to Utrecht

Have a nice week and feel hugged ♥

Yeah the least days I could enjoy wonderful sunny and fresh weather :)I hope you did too!

Countdown to see my beloved ones again ♥

Ahhhhhh....
just two more nights sleeping and I will see my family and friends after four month not seeing them. That is the biggest time distance I haven’t seen them.
Don’t understand me wrong, I like my life here and I guess I will miss my host family here in this two weeks, too. But of course I am really happy to see them again because of course I’m not seeing all of my friends every week or something. But still you feel that the possibility isn’t there to see them, if you need them.

So this year Christmas will be something really special and even more Christmas feeling like. And of course after I’ve been to the Christmas market with Daniel, my cousin Mathias and his girlfriend Laura in Aachen. It was really crowded but also really nice – but that’s maybe because it was my first time on a Christmas market this year – and normally I’m going there two to three times A WEEK xD so for me it was awesome and I will go there on Sunday and Monday as much as my hands aren’t  freezing off.
my own little chirstmas tree ♥
But even though I have some Christmas feeling here as my host mom grew up in Germany with Christmas markets and nice decorated Christmas trees. So a few days after Sinterklaas they went to shop for a Christmas tree. He is a little small fat cute tree decorated with lights, super kids save plastic (Disney) balls, some stars and stuff mad of felt and of course we made some craft decoration. Also Neo’s Babybox got some lights and it stands right under the tree so he is fascinated from all the decoration when he lies in it. By the way he grows a lot and can sit now. He really is a little sunshine and he is really ticklish so even when you just pick him up under his arms he will smile and laugh and giggle. Nyra learns new words every day and loves to climb everywhere so most of the stuff here in the house is not save anymore. With Ty and Cyan everything is going good and I hope these two weeks won’t change a lot in my relationship with them.
So this is my last post before I head home and I’m really excited.

Much love, hugs and happiness Xx

Another package for St Nicholas' Day

I also want to tell you about my second package from Home ♥
My mother thought of me not having a German St. Nicholas' Day and so she sent me a package with lots of great stuff like:
- Two self-made jam (strawberry and pumpkin-ginger-orange)
- A beautiful calender for coming year
- KINDER choclate (which reminds me at home and is my favorite)- of course the large package xD
- KINDER bueno (which is super delicious and I looove it!!)
- A aromatic candle (spiced orange)
- A lovely card with words from the heart
- and a "Advendskalender" where you open a little door each day to count the days until Christmas (24th in Germany) from a famous caracter from my childhood ♥ (Oh and I got it perfectly on the 1st December in a different mail)

I really enjoyed this gift and was really happy to recieve it!!
Lots of love and huggs to my family, and happy news to see them in less than a week :))))

Oh wow schon brennt das dritte Lichtlein - Time flys by

Sinterklaas also found our house around 11 days ago. The whole family including Chris’ sister, her husband and their two kids and the grandmother, were at our house with lots of food and in a good mood. On a table lots of presents were already waiting to be unpacked by the kids. As the 5th December is also Nyra’s birthday she had around double the presents.
It was really full (in a good way) because at that day Li’s sisters were here for around two weeks already and it was really nice that they could enjoy this special holiday with us.
But to give you less to read - let photos speak :
